Getting Started

To start recording, first open Delivery Recorder and tap "Start Service". A floating record button will appear on your screen. Important: To avoid camera conflicts with your delivery app, tap the record button after you've taken the photo of the stop and finished the delivery in your delivery app (like Amazon Flex, UberEats, DoorDash, etc.). This ensures Delivery Recorder has full access to your camera. The recording will stop automatically after the duration you selected in settings (1-5 minutes), so you don't need to worry about stopping it manually. Your video will be saved automatically, even if your delivery app temporarily uses the camera during recording - the app will pause and resume recording seamlessly.

Your videos are saved in your device's Movies folder, organized by date for easy access: Movies/DeliveryRecorder/YYYY-MM-DD/. For example, all videos recorded on January 22, 2025 will be in the folder "2025-01-22". Each video file is named with the exact timestamp it was recorded (e.g., "2025-01-22_14-30-45.mp4"). You can access your videos using any file manager app or by connecting your phone to a computer.

Yes, but with a smart pause feature. When another app (like your delivery app) needs the camera to take a photo, Delivery Recorder will automatically pause recording, save the current segment, and resume recording as soon as the camera becomes available again - typically within 1 second. All segments are merged into a single continuous video when the recording ends. For the best experience, we recommend starting your recording after completing the photo step in your delivery app to minimize interruptions.

For deliveries in dark areas, Delivery Recorder includes a floating flashlight button. To enable it, open the app once and check the "Flashlight" option in the Floating Buttons section. Once enabled, the flashlight button will remain available on your screen alongside the record button until you go back into the app and uncheck the option. This way, you only need to configure it once, and you'll have quick access to the flashlight during all your nighttime deliveries without reopening the app.

We highly recommend using a phone mount that doesn't cover your phone's camera. This allows Delivery Recorder to capture the moment you walk away from the delivery location and return to your vehicle - providing extra protection and proof that you completed the delivery properly. This footage can be crucial evidence to protect your job if a customer falsely claims they didn't receive their package. Dashboard mounts, vent clips, or windshield mounts that hold the phone from the sides or bottom are ideal choices.

Settings & Configuration

Open the app and on the main settings screen, use the "Camera" dropdown to select between back camera (recommended) and front camera.

Open the app and use the "Video Quality" dropdown to select between: FHD (1080p) for highest quality and larger file size, HD (720p) for good balance of quality and size, or SD (480p) for smallest file size, recommended for saving storage.

Open the app and use the "Recording Duration" slider to select between 1 and 5 minutes. The recording will automatically stop after this time.

In the "Floating Buttons" section of the app, you can enable or disable: Settings (quick access to open the app), Flashlight (toggle flashlight for dark deliveries), and Close (close the app and stop the service). The record button is always visible and cannot be disabled.

Simply press and drag the floating button to any position on your screen.

Managing Videos

Open the app menu (hamburger icon), select "Delete Old Videos", choose a date, and all videos older than that date will be deleted. Empty date folders will be automatically removed.

Troubleshooting

Go to Settings > Apps > Delivery Recorder > "Display over other apps" and enable it.

Try these steps: 1. Close other camera apps. 2. Check storage space. 3. Restart the service. 4. Restart your phone.

The flashlight uses your phone's camera flash. While recording, the app controls the flashlight through the camera system. If the flashlight doesn't turn on: 1. Make sure the flashlight button is enabled in settings. 2. Check that your phone has a flash (front cameras usually don't). 3. Try restarting the service.
