Delivery Recorder runs in the background using your phone's camera. Since Android only allows one app to use the camera at a time, a conflict occurs when your delivery app (Amazon Flex, Spark, UberEats, etc.) briefly accesses the camera — not just when you take the verification photo, but also when you finish the stop, as the delivery app momentarily returns to the camera. This tutorial shows you how to avoid those conflicts and get the best results.

What Happens During a Camera Conflict?

Camera Conflict = Video Cut

When you finish a stop in your delivery app, the app briefly accesses the camera one more time in the background. If Delivery Recorder is already recording, it temporarily loses camera access, causing a cut in the resulting video. After this, Delivery Recorder needs approximately 2 seconds to recover camera priority and resume recording. The separate segments are automatically merged into one video, but there will be a brief gap.

Recording BEFORE finishing the stop

If you start recording with Delivery Recorder before finishing the stop in your delivery app:

  • When you finish the stop, the delivery app briefly accesses the camera again
  • This causes Delivery Recorder to lose camera priority, creating a cut in the video
  • It takes ~2 seconds for Delivery Recorder to recover the camera and resume recording

Recording AFTER finishing the stop

If you first finish the stop completely in your delivery app, and then start recording:

  • No camera conflict occurs
  • Continuous, uninterrupted video
  • Clean evidence of your delivery

Recommended Workflow

Follow these steps in order to get the best recording results with no interruptions:

1

Arrive at the delivery location

Park your vehicle and prepare the package for delivery.

2

Take the verification photo in your delivery app

Use your delivery app's camera (Amazon Flex, Spark, UberEats, etc.) to take the photo proving you delivered the package.

3

Finish the stop in your delivery app

Complete all steps in the delivery app to finish the current stop. Make sure the camera of the delivery app is fully closed.

5

Record your proof and walk back to your vehicle

The recording will capture where you left the package and your return to the vehicle. It stops automatically based on your configured duration (1-5 min).

Remember

The golden rule is simple: first finish the stop completely in your delivery app, then start recording with Delivery Recorder. This way you avoid the moment when the delivery app briefly accesses the camera upon finishing the stop, and you get a clean, uninterrupted video every time — the best evidence to protect yourself against false claims.
